Khaberni  - New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani engaged remarkably with a video from one of the neighborhoods in the Egyptian capital, Cairo; capturing moments of a communal Iftar during Ramadan.

The video shows Mamdani watching scenes from "Matariya Iftar," which is held annually in one of Cairo's neighborhoods, and he remarks, "Egypt is the mother of the world," expressing his admiration for the gathering of thousands of people at a single Iftar table.

The blogger who presented the video to Mamdani explained that the Iftar brings together about 100,000 people. Mamdani expressed his astonishment and mentioned that the Iftar he had just organized involved only 30 people.

In response to his question about whether he would join an initiative to organize something like this in New York, Mamdani said, "Yes, I would like them to be 100,001."

The Matariya Iftar is a communal table in the Matariya neighborhood of Cairo that has been organized for years in collaboration with the locals, and it gathers thousands of residents and visitors. Recently, this Iftar has become a destination for a large number of foreigners and tourists wanting to experience this unique Ramadan tradition.
