Lost his family in an Israeli strike A Lebanese man carries out an attack on a Jewish synagogue in America photo

Khaberni - Federal officials stated that the armed man who crashed his car into one of the largest Reform Jewish synagogues in the country has been identified as Ayman Mohamed Ghazali, 41 years old, a naturalized citizen who was born in Lebanon.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Ghazali arrived in the United States in 2011 on an "IR1" immigration visa as the spouse of an American citizen, and he obtained American citizenship in 2016.

Federal investigators described the crime as "a violent act targeting the Jewish community".

Fox News reported, quoting the mayor of Dearborn Heights, that Ayman Mohamed Ghazali, of Lebanese origin, had lost a number of his relatives in March as a result of an Israeli raid targeting his family's home in Lebanon, before he drove his car into a building of a Jewish synagogue in Michigan.

The New York Post reported that the attacker of Lebanese origin, who was found dead inside the car, was carrying a rifle and mortar shells were found in the rear of the vehicle.

The channel quoted the mayor saying: "Earlier this month, Ayman Mohamed Ghazali lost several family members, including his niece and nephew, due to an Israeli raid targeting their home in Lebanon."
