Khaberni - U.S. President Donald Trump commented to "Fox News" on the latest developments in the American-Israeli war on Iran, stating that Tehran no longer possesses any naval power, and that all its ships have been sunk.
Trump urged the ships in the Strait of Hormuz to move and not fear Iranian targeting, saying, "The ships should show some courage and pass through the Strait of Hormuz."
He added, "We have destroyed Iran in a comprehensive destruction that no other country has ever done, and yet they still have some remnants."
Trump accused Iran of "planning to take over and control the Middle East completely."
In his talk, the U.S. President referred to the new Iranian leader -who reports indicated suffered minor injuries in the strike that killed his father, the previous guide- and said, "I believe that Mojtaba Khamenei is still alive in one way or another."
It is noted that the new Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei ordered on Thursday to keep the Strait of Hormuz -which is a vital passage for global oil trade- closed, and the Revolutionary Guard quickly pledged to implement this order, as oil prices continue to rise due to the war.
However, the Iranian government hinted at the same time that it might allow the passage of some ships from countries it considers non-hostile, and Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister told the French Press Agency on Thursday, that Iran allowed ships from several countries to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
He added, "Some countries have spoken to us about crossing the strait, and we have cooperated with them," without specifying them, and added, "We consider that the countries that joined the aggression should not benefit from safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz."
Simultaneously with the statement of the Iranian leader, the U.S. President emphasized that preventing Iran from possessing nuclear weapons is more important to him than controlling oil prices, which, according to some indicators, have increased by about 50% since the beginning of the war.
Similarly, the U.S. military announced on Thursday that the United States has bombed about 6,000 targets since the start of the war on Iran on February 28th.
On its part, Iran threatened on Thursday to cause significant damage to the oil and gas industry in the region if its energy infrastructure is attacked.
These positions come at a time when the war in the Middle East has caused what the International Energy Agency described as "the largest disruption in oil supply in the history of the global market," as navigation has almost completely stopped in the Strait of Hormuz through which about 20% of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas pass.
