Pakistan Conducts Nighttime Airstrikes on Afghanistan

Khaberni - A Pakistani security source confirmed on Friday that the army carried out aerial strikes in Afghanistan overnight, including on the capital Kabul.

The source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the strikes were against "precise targets related to the Pakistani Taliban movement."

Islamabad accuses Afghanistan of harboring militants of the Pakistani Taliban, who have claimed a series of deadly attacks in Pakistan, as well as members from the Khorasan Province of the Islamic State terrorist organization (ISIS-Khorasan).

Earlier, the Taliban government announced that Pakistan had launched an attack targeting Kabul and other areas in Afghanistan, while Kabul police reported that four people were killed in the city.

Spokesman for the government Zabihullah Mujahid wrote on “X”: "Continuing its aggression, the Pakistani military regime again bombed Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Paktika, and others," confirming the death of "women and children" in the attack.

In turn, the spokesman for the Afghan capital’s police, Khalid Zadran, said that four people died and 15 others were injured in a Pakistani attack targeting "civilian homes" in the east of the city.

He wrote on “X”: "In the Gozar area (...) in Kabul, civilian homes were targeted in bombings by the Pakistani regime, resulting in the death of four people and injuring 15 others,” elaborating that women and children were among the victims.

On Friday dawn, the sound of anti-aircraft fire was heard.

In Kandahar, a city in the southern part of the country where the leader of the Taliban movement Hibatullah Akhundzada resides, Pakistani airstrikes targeted the oil depot of Kam Air company near the airport, according to the Afghan government.
