Trump Mojtaba Khamenei is alive but injured

Khaberni - President Donald Trump said he believes the new Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who was killed along with his father, the former Supreme Leader, on the first day of the war, is alive but "injured".

The Iranians have not seen Khamenei since he was chosen last Sunday as the Supreme Leader of the country, and a TV announcer read his first official comments yesterday, Thursday.

An Iranian official said on Wednesday that Mojtaba Khamenei was slightly injured but continues to work, and state television had said he was wounded in the war.

Trump said in an interview on "Fox News": "I presume that he (is alive). I think he's injured." Fox News broadcast his statements late Thursday.

In Khamenei's first remarks, he vowed to keep the Strait of Hormuz closed and called on neighboring countries to close US bases on their territories, otherwise, they risk being targeted by Iran.

The United States and Israel began attacks on Iran on February 28. Iran retaliated by attacking Israel and Gulf states.

Leaders of Iran, Israel, and the United States continue to show defiance, vowing to continue fighting as the war approaches its third week, having claimed hundreds of lives and rocked financial markets.
