From Donnarumma to Oblak Goalkeeper Disasters Stir Mockery in the Champions League

Khaberni - A series of mistakes made by goalkeepers during the first leg matches of the round of sixteen in the Champions League has drawn significant mockery.

The results of the first leg matches in the last sixteenth of the Champions League saw a series of big wins, including the crushing 5-2 victory of France's Paris Saint-Germain, the title holders, over England's Chelsea, the world club champions.

This match saw a disastrous mistake by Danish goalkeeper Philip Jorgensen of the Blues, leading to PSG's third goal which made the score 3-2 (min 74) paving the way for the crushing win.

Jorgensen mistakenly passed the ball within the box to a PSG player, who in turn passed it to Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who then set up Portuguese Vitinha to score the third goal.

Before that, Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky of Tottenham Hotspur was forced to leave the "Wanda Metropolitano" stadium just fifteen minutes into his team's match against Spanish Atlético Madrid on Tuesday after conceding three goals, two of which were due to his naive mistakes.

Kinsky made an extremely naive mistake by wrongly passing the ball to an Atlético player after just six minutes, which reached Nigerian Ademola Lookman and then to Argentine Julián Álvarez who set up the first goal for Marcos Llorente.

Quarter of an hour in, Kinsky was conceding the third goal after failing to clear a ball coming from a defender, which reached Julián Álvarez who easily put it into the net.

The Slovenian Jan Oblak, goalkeeper for Atlético Madrid, also was not spared from mistakes in the Tottenham match, as he mistakenly passed the ball to Spanish Pedro Porro, who then passed it to Dominic Solanke, who scored making it 5-2.

Donnarumma joins the list
Although Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma, goalkeeper for Manchester City, successfully saved a penalty from Brazilian Vinícius Júnior during the match against Real Madrid, his mistake opened the door for a big win for Los Merengues.

Real Madrid defeated Manchester City 3-0 with a hat-trick from Uruguayan Federico Valverde, placing a foot in the European quarter-finals early on.

The first goal in this encounter came from a run by Valverde who faced Donnarumma at the edge of the penalty area and successfully dribbled past the Italian, who oddly withdrew his hand and did not attempt to deflect the ball that was close to him.

Manchester City fans mocked Donnarumma’s reaction as if he acted like the ball was outside the penalty box and he couldn't touch it.

One follower commented on the Italian goalkeeper's mistake: "It seems he forgot that he was still inside the penalty box, so he didn’t touch it with his hand."

Another added: "He lost his focus way too early; it was a disaster," as a third remarked: "Donnarumma won’t see heaven’s gates," before another concluded: "That's why PSG sold him."
