Among them a child Israel kidnaps 4 Syrians from the countryside of Quneitra

Khaberni  - The Israeli army kidnapped, today, Thursday, 4 shepherds in the countryside of Quneitra Governorate, southern Syria, including a child, in an incident that is the second of its kind in 3 days.

The Syrian News Agency, "SANA," stated that "Israeli occupation forces arrested 4 people, including a child, from the residents of Bariqa village in the southern countryside of Quneitra, while they were herding their sheep," without specifying their identities.

The agency added that the Israeli force "led the four detainees into the occupied Golan, with no additional information on their fate."

No immediate comment was issued by the Syrian authorities on the incident, nor did Israel clarify the motives for detaining the children, which is considered a violation of international and humanitarian laws.

The Israeli army arrested two children on Tuesday while they were herding their sheep in the village of Ruweihina in the northern countryside of Quneitra, according to "SANA."

Israeli violations of Syrian sovereignty are repeated on a daily basis, despite Damascus repeatedly affirming its commitment to the Separation of Forces Agreement concluded between the two sides in 1974, which Tel Aviv declared canceled after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime on December 8, 2023.

These violations include land incursions, artillery bombardments, particularly in the countrysides of Quneitra and Daraa, south of Syria, detaining citizens, setting up checkpoints for inspecting passers-by and interrogating them, as well as destroying agricultural crops.

These developments come despite the announcement of forming a contact mechanism between Syria and Israel on January 6 of the past year, under American supervision, for coordinating information exchange, de-escalation of military tensions, diplomatic engagement, and commercial opportunities.

Syrians say that the continued Israeli violations limit their ability to restore stability, and hinder the government's efforts to attract investments and improve the economic situation.
