Settlers Burn Mosque in Duma Village South of Nablus

Khaberni - Settlers set fire early Thursday to the "Mohammad Fayyad" mosque in the village of Duma south of Nablus, and wrote racist slogans on its walls.

Palestinian sources confirmed that the residents managed to control the fire before it could spread to the entire mosque, limiting the damage to its entrance only.

The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs warned of a systematic increase in attempts to burn mosques in the West Bank during the current month of Ramadan, and pointed to the burning of the mosque in Duma, and the drawing of slogans and racist phrases on its walls, as a step to desecrate Islamic sanctities during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The Awqaf Ministry confirmed in a statement that these repeated attempts to burn mosques and their escalation are part of a systematic plan by the settlers to take over Palestinian land by undermining the security and resilience of the Palestinian citizen inside the West Bank, and the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque to worshippers and retreatants during Ramadan is further evidence of this plan.

The Awqaf Ministry saluted the people of Palestine in all their places of residence for their protection of their villages, mosques, towns, and cities despite the ferocity and brutality of the attack by these extremists.
