Khaberni - The Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Yarub Al-Qudah discussed with a number of traders and food importers in the Kingdom, the reality of supply chains and ways to ensure the sustainability of a safe and strategic stockpile of essential goods amid current regional challenges.
According to the ministry’s statement on Thursday, Al-Qudah emphasized during the meeting the importance of maintaining a safe and sufficient stockpile of essential food items, which ensures the stability of the local market and meets the needs of citizens without interruption.
The Minister, in the presence of the head of the Food Traders Syndicate, the chairman of the chambers of commerce of Jordan and Amman, Khalil Hajj Tawfiq, listened to a briefing from traders and importers about the main challenges facing import operations, as well as discussing the conditions of some commodities that may experience a rise in prices globally.
They emphasized the importance of facilitating procedures related to import operations and working on diversifying supply sources by importing from alternatives and new markets in different countries, which contributes to enhancing supply security and providing goods at the lowest possible costs.
