Khaberni - Jordan welcomed the adoption of Security Council Resolution number 2817 introduced by Jordan and the GCC countries, which condemns the unjustified Iranian attacks that targeted Jordan and the GCC countries, proposed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in its capacity as the representative of the Arab group in the Security Council, and sponsored by 135 countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized the importance of the Security Council's adoption of this resolution as a significant step representing an international consensus condemning the Iranian aggressions and rejecting any infringement upon the sovereignty, security, stability, and safety of citizens of Arab states, and to reinforce security and stability in the region and end regional tensions.
The Ministry stressed the necessity for Iran to adhere to the rules of international law and international humanitarian law, to halt these attacks targeting the stability of the region, reiterating Jordan’s condemnation of the Iranian attacks on its territory, and affirming that Jordan will take all necessary and available steps to protect its citizens, security, stability, and sovereignty. It also confirmed Jordan's full support for the Arab states in confronting these aggressions and backing all measures they take to protect their security, sovereignty, stability, and the safety of their citizens and residents.
The Ministry also expressed Jordan’s appreciation for the Arab and international support that the resolution received, and the widespread international solidarity with Jordan and the GCC countries in facing the Iranian aggressions.
