Khaberni - The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority confirmed on Thursday the receipt of reports about an incident occurring 35 nautical miles north of Jebel Ali in the UAE, while ships were subjected to attacks in the Strait of Hormuz.
It reported that a captain reported a container ship being struck by an unidentified projectile, causing a minor fire on board.
The authority stated that all crew members are safe and there have been no reports of any environmental impact so far.
On Wednesday morning, the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority reported that it had received a notification about an incident occurring 25 nautical miles northwest of Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.
The British authority added that the captain of a container ship reported that the vessel had suffered damage from what is suspected to be an unidentified projectile, noting that the extent of the damage is currently unknown, but an investigation is ongoing and all crew members are safe.
