Washington says it spent 11 billion dollars in the first six days of the war against Iran

Khaberni - American lawmakers were informed during a briefing at the Pentagon that the cost of the first week of the war against Iran amounted to more than 11.3 billion dollars, according to a report published by The New York Times highlighting the pace at which this conflict consumes weapons and resources.

The newspaper quoted sources familiar with the closed briefing held on Tuesday, that Congress members were informed that the figure does not include many other costs associated with preparing for the strikes, indicating that the final cost of the first week could rise significantly.

Defense officials had earlier informed Congress that about 5.6 billion dollars were spent on ammunition in just the first two days of fighting, according to American media, a rate much higher than previous general estimates.

Since Saturday, February 28, Israel and the United States have been conducting air strikes on Iran, which led to the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has been retaliating by striking Israel and countries in the region with missiles and drones.

Iran implemented a naval blockade on the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, targeting oil tankers attempting to pass through it.
