Trump We bombed 28 Iranian ships for laying mines

Khaberni - American President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that his forces struck 28 Iranian ships for laying mines, while Tehran strives to tighten its control over the vital Strait of Hormuz crucial to oil and liquefied gas trade amid the US-Israeli war on it.

Trump told reporters during a visit to Cincinnati, Ohio, "We have struck 28 ships for laying mines so far."

French President Emmanuel Macron said that he "has no confirmation" regarding Iran laying sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, after reports indicated that Tehran is working on booby-trapping the waterway, which has almost completely halted navigation due to the war.

In a video call with the leaders of the Group of Seven, Macron stated, "I have no confirmation, either from partner agencies or from our intelligence agencies," regarding Iran planting mines in the strait.

Israel and the United States have been conducting airstrikes on Iran since Saturday, February 28, which resulted in the killing of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has retaliated by hitting Israel and countries in the region with missiles and drones.

Iran has implemented a naval blockade on the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, targeting oil tankers that attempted to cross through it.
