Egypt Details of a young mans report against a person who rebuked him for breaking the fast during Ramadan

Khaberni - A young man filed a report against a person who reproached him while he was breaking his fast during the daytime in Ramadan, affirming that he has the freedom to choose what he drinks and eats.

The El-Waili Police Department in Egypt received a report from a young man who stated that he was subjected to rebuke by another person for his daytime fast-breaking during Ramadan 2026, prompting him to take legal action against this individual.

After an investigation, it was identified that the accused directly rebuked the young man for either eating or smoking during the daytime in Ramadan. The latter responded by saying: «I am free to drink cigarettes and break my fast», before filing an official report with the number 1147 for the year 2026 at the El-Waili Police Department.

The appropriate authorities took over the investigation of the incident and the completion of the legal proceedings to verify the accuracy of the report, and to deal with any violations, if found, in accordance with the laws regulating public behavior and preserving personal rights.
