Khaberni - Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy is preparing to return to the cinema screen again after a four-year hiatus, starring in a new film titled "Hedouta". This return comes after his last movie "Another One" which was released in 2022, putting Helmy back in the cinema competition circle after his absence.
According to media reports, the movie "Hedouta" has entered the actual implementation phase, with filming expected to begin right after the Eid al-Fitr holiday. Estimates indicate that the film might be released during the Eid al-Adha cinema season, especially since Ahmed Helmy's films generally complete their filming within a relatively short time span, some in just one month.
Sources from the crew reported that Ahmed Helmy had hoped to start filming his new movie during the current Ramadan, to be continued after the Eid al-Fitr holiday, but time constraints prevented this from happening. The delay was due to the ongoing preparations and discussions about the movie for several weeks, during which Helmy was searching for a distinctive script that would strongly reintroduce him to cinema.
The film fits the cinematic style that Ahmed Helmy's audience is accustomed to, as it combines social issues and situational comedy. It revolves around the character of a young man who was raised by another family after his parents died, opening the door to a series of comedic and humane situations linked to the details of his life and upbringing.
The movie stars Magid Al-Masry, Rahma Ahmed, and Mohamed Abdel Azim, and is written by Ahmed Abdel Rahman and directed by Mazen Ashraf.
It is worth mentioning that Ahmed Helmy has another cinematic project titled "The Weakest of His Creation", in which he co-stars with Tunisian actress Hend Sabri. The work on this film has been temporarily postponed due to the latter's involvement in the filming of the series "Immunity", which was shown in the first half of the current Ramadan drama season.
