Khaberni - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' continued closure of the doors of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / the Noble Sanctuary to worshippers, preventing them from performing religious rites, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. It considered it a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, the current legal and historical status, and the unrestricted access to places of worship.
The official spokesperson for the ministry, Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali, expressed the kingdom's absolute rejection and condemnation of this unlawful and unjustified action, and the continuing provocative actions by the Israeli authorities in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque / the Noble Sanctuary towards the worshippers, emphasizing that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied city of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
Al-Majali demanded that Israel, in its capacity as the occupying power, immediately stop closing the doors of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and not hinder worshippers' access to the mosque. He called on the international community to take a strict international stance that obligates Israel to stop its ongoing unlawful practices and violations against the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, and the violations of the sanctity of the holy places.
Al-Majali reasserted that the entire area of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, totaling 144 dunams, is a purely Muslim place of worship. The Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department under the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Christian Holy Places is the legal authority exclusively responsible for managing the affairs of the Noble Sanctuary and organizing entry into it.
