Rural Cent provides electricity to 237 sites and homes at a cost of 535000 dinars in February

Khaberni - The high-level steering committee of Rural Cent, in a meeting chaired by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, approved the lists of homes and sites that benefited from the electric current supply in the past month of February, for 237 homes and sites at a total cost of 535,000 dinars.
Al-Kharabsheh stated in a press statement that the committee approved a group of projects and sites that will be connected to electric power through conventional networks and solar cell systems at the expense of Rural Cent, including residential gatherings and economic activities following the expansion of this service pursuant to amendments to the principles of electric current delivery on the account of Rural Cent.

On his part, the Director of the Electricity and Rural Electrification Department at the Ministry, Hisham Al-Momani, outlined the details of the decisions, noting that they include residential gatherings consisting of five homes outside the planning boundaries at a total cost of 42,000 dinars, and residential gatherings of three homes outside the planning boundaries at a minimum cost of 36,000 dinars, in addition to individual homes located outside the planning boundaries benefiting from existing networks at a cost of 27,000 dinars.

According to Al-Momani, the lists included a segment of homes of modest families located within the planning limits in the concession areas of electricity companies at a cost of 6,000 dinars, in support of modest families with limited income.

In the context of supporting animal and agricultural production, the support included poultry, cow, sheep, and fish farms within poverty pocket areas outside planning at a cost of 24,000 dinars, and farms including artesian wells at a cost of 12,000 dinars contributing to enhancing food security and self-reliance.

Rural Cent also contributed 193,000 dinars to support productive, industrial, and investment projects in poverty pocket areas and outside planning, provided that they create job opportunities for Jordanians from the project area.

The approved categories included the supply of electric current to projects belonging to government sectors, agricultural cooperative societies, and charitable associations at a cost of 20,000 dinars, in addition to enhancing the capacities of transformation stations built at the expense of Rural Cent during the last ten years at a cost of 7,000 dinars.

In the field of alternative energy, the committee approved the installation of solar cell systems connected to the grid for (168) homes of modest families and beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund, aimed at reducing the monthly energy bill and improving their economic status.
