Gulf defenses counter a wave of Iranian missiles and drones

Khaberni - The Gulf region has witnessed Iranian attacks since dawn on Wednesday, with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain announcing they had been targeted with ballistic missiles and drones launched from Iran, as the escalation in the region enters its 12th day due to the confrontation between Tehran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other.
Qatar

The Qatari Ministry of Defense announced this morning that it had intercepted a missile attack targeting the country, while the Qatari Ministry of Interior later stated that "the security threat has dissipated and the situation has returned to normal".

The Ministry of Interior renewed its call for everyone to adhere to the instructions issued by the relevant authorities, after having raised the security threat level and advised residents to stay indoors and away from windows.

Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Defense announced in successive statements the interception and destruction of 7 ballistic missiles, 6 of which targeted the Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj province, and a seventh missile launched towards the Eastern Region.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense confirmed the interception and destruction of 22 drones in Hafr Al-Batin, Al-Kharj, and the Eastern Region.

The Emirates and Kuwait

In the same context, the UAE Ministry of Defense reported dealing with "missile attacks and drones coming from Iran".

It reported in a statement published on the "X" platform that the sounds heard in various areas of the country were due to the interception of ballistic missiles by air defense systems, and drones and roaming aircraft by fighters.
In a related context, the British Maritime Trade Operations agency reported a container ship being hit by an unidentified projectile about 25 nautical miles northwest of Ras Al Khaimah, confirming the crew's safety.

In Kuwait, the National Guard announced the downing of 8 drones at responsibility sites.

The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) quoted the official spokesperson of the National Guard, Brigadier General Jeda'an Fadil Jeda'an, announcing the "downing of 8 drones (drones) at the responsibility sites secured by the duty force".

He added that this comes "as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and protect vital sites and counter any potential threats".
