Khaberni - The British Maritime Trade Operations reported today, Wednesday, that it received a report of an incident that occurred 25 nautical miles northwest of Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.
The British Maritime Trade Operations said that the captain of a ship reported it was damaged by a suspected foreign object projectile, but the nature of the object could not be determined.
The authority stated that the nature of the damages is currently unknown, but an investigation is underway and all crew members are safe.
The British Maritime Trade Operations had reported on Tuesday another incident north of the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi, where a ship captain heard a loud explosion near his vessel.
The authority issued an urgent warning on Tuesday, stating that the incident occurred 36 nautical miles north of Abu Dhabi, and that the relevant authorities have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances and nature of the explosion.
UKMTO has urged all ships sailing in the region to exercise extreme caution during transit and to immediately report any suspicious activity threatening maritime safety.
These incidents occur in the context of an unprecedented military and naval escalation in the Gulf region since the outbreak of the US-Israeli war on Iran on February 28th, which was followed by Iranian attacks with drones and ballistic missiles targeting commercial and military ships in the Gulf and Arabian Sea waters.
Last week, the US Central Command "CENTCOM" announced that its naval forces escorted several commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz in an attempt to break the Iranian blockade and ensure the continued flow of energy from the Gulf.
