Scorers for the Bavarian team included Croatian Josip Stanišić (12), Frenchman Michaël Cuisance (22 and 64), Serge Gnabry (25), Senegalese Nicolas Jackson (52), and Jamal Musiala (67).
On the other hand, Croatian Mario Pašalić scored the only goal for the Italian team (90+3).
The return leg is to be played next Wednesday in Munich, where Atalanta will face a challenging task to recover, as Bayern appears to have a clear path towards advancing to the quarterfinals of Europe’s most prestigious cups.
