Khaberni - A gang succeeded in stealing about twenty million Turkish Lira (approximately half a million dollars), in an armed robbery that lasted only one minute.
The incident took place in a shopping center in Istanbul in the early morning hours of Monday, when the gang arrived at the entrance of the center's parking lot.
A video clip from security cameras captured the entire operation from the arrival of two cars transporting seven individuals, until they left with the money in white bags, which seemed to be hastily transferred.
The armed gang members captured the guards at the location, and some of them carried the money bags into one of the cars before deciding to leave quickly, despite leaving a significant amount of money packed in bags at the site.
The time counter on the surveillance cameras shows the speed of the operation, indicating the gang’s professionalism, as within 60 seconds the cars were leaving the location.
No one among the guards at the shopping center was harmed during the operation, while the reason for the gang's sudden withdrawal, leaving most of the money bags at the site, remains unclear.
The police are investigating the incident to determine the identity of the gang members, who are still at large and unknown.
