Omar Ali Awad competes for the title of the most beautiful Quranic voice with the legacy of the giants of recitation in Egypt

Khaberni - Participants in the 28th session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award continue to present advanced levels of performance, under the new developmental vision of the award that has raised the level of competition to an unprecedented level.

Among the competing voices, the Egyptian reciter Omar Ali Awad stands out, representing the Arab Republic of Egypt, carrying the legacy of the prestigious Egyptian school of recitation, and strongly competing for the title of the most beautiful Quranic voice in this session.

Omar grew up in a family environment that loves the book of Allah, where the collective interest within his family served as a positive motivation that made him live the memorization of the Holy Quran as an enjoyable journey rather than a heavy academic duty, amid brotherly competition to master the performance and rules of Tajweed.

Omar studies in the first preparatory grade at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, which represented for him an academic and spiritual incubator that contributed to honing his talent, where he enjoyed the support of scholars and sheikhs, while being honored by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb at an early age was a major motivation to continue and achieve further excellence.

He emphasized that the biggest challenge for him was balancing academic excellence at a prestigious institution like Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and the requirements of mastering the book of Allah and officially representing Egypt in international forums, pointing out that the Holy Quran has always been a source of blessing in his time and provided him with the necessary focus to overcome challenges.

Omar leans towards the Egyptian school in recitation, drawing inspiration from the performances of the giants of readers who combined powerful performance with genuine emotion, considering that moving from memorizing the words to mastering the performance with a spirit of reverence is the real challenge in his journey.

He believes that dedicating daily sacred time for the Holy Quran is the way to overcome digital distractions, and that social media can be an effective advocacy tool if used to spread skillful recitation and good example.

He expressed his pride in representing Egypt and Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in the Dubai International Holy Quran Award, considering his participation a medal and an honor for years of diligence, and an opportunity to present the prestigious Egyptian recitation to a global audience.

It is worth mentioning that the Dubai International Holy Quran Award announced in its twenty-eighth session for the year 1447 AH – 2026 AD a new vision to expand its impact and enhance the attraction of Quranic talents from around the world, as well as increased the total value of the awards to over 12 million dirhams, in a step that reflects the status of the award and its leadership in serving the Holy Book of Allah.
