Khaberni - The General Security Directorate has warned of the risks of some electronic games that may appear suitable for children at first glance, but that carry extremely dangerous psychological content. Among these is Doki Doki Literature Club, which has recently spread across the internet and video sharing platforms.
The directorate confirmed that the game initially appears as a cartoon story set in a school, but gradually turns into dark psychological content, including sensitive scenes and topics such as depression, self-harm, suicide, and psychological disorders, making it unsuitable for children.
The directorate explained that the danger of this game lies in its deceptive nature, where its cartoon design and attractive colors may lead children to try it without realizing its true content and its severe psychological impact on children.
The directorate noted that exposure to such content can cause fear, anxiety, and stress for children and adolescents, and reflect on their psychological and life behavior.
The General Security Directorate has urged parents to prevent access to or downloading of this game on smartphones and electronic devices and to monitor everything that is downloaded or viewed, in addition to promoting dialogue with their children about safe internet and electronic game use.
The General Security Directorate renewed its commitment to continuing its awareness efforts to protect children from digital dangers and promote safe technology use, calling for reporting any content that may pose a risk to children's safety or mental health.
