Khaberni - The Israeli occupation forces continue to close the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque for the eleventh consecutive day, preventing worshipers from praying there, citing security conditions related to the Iran war.
The continued closure of the mosque during the last ten days of Ramadan is a dangerous precedent, as it is the first time since the occupation of Jerusalem in 1967 that Tarawih and I'tikaf prayers have been prevented inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Jerusalem Governorate has warned of the serious escalation in the incitement rhetoric led by the so-called extremist "Temple" organizations against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in the midst of the ongoing closure measures imposed by the occupation authorities on the mosque and its surroundings.
The Governorate stated in a statement that what is happening is not part of temporary security measures as claimed by the occupation authorities, but it is part of a political and ideological course aiming to change the religious, historical, and legal reality in the Noble Sanctuary.
It pointed out that the so-called "Temple Institute", the central institution for extremist groups striving to establish what is called the "Temple" on the ruins of Al-Aqsa, has called for the continuation of the closure under the pretext of "lack of safe shelters".
The Governorate sees this closure as a strategic gain for the Temple organizations, being sustained and shared, and it reflects the policy of division of the mosque as being "in front of visitors from all religions", as the Institute promotes a long-term horizon for the closure until the end of the war, to ensure it remains closed to Muslims throughout the last ten days of Ramadan and Eid.
