Football Association Decides to Implement VAR Technology Next Season

Khaberni - The board of directors of the Jordan Football Association held a meeting on the evening of Monday, March 9, chaired by His Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the Association, during which they discussed a number of administrative, financial, and organizational files.

During the meeting, the council agreed on a recommendation from the purchasing committee regarding the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology tender to contract with Beijing Rigour Technology, to operate the technology with the commencement of the next season.

The association continues its efforts to complete the requirements for implementing the technology, by working on developing and equipping the necessary infrastructure in the stadiums, in addition to implementing training programs for referees and officiating staff.

The board approved a recommendation by the marketing committee to continue contracting with Kilmi Company to supply the national teams with their official uniforms as well as the approved balls.

‏With the aim of enhancing medical care for players and providing the best treatment and rehabilitation services, in addition to developing sports medicine and scientific research, the board agreed to apply for accreditation from the Asian and international federations as a Medical Center of Excellence.

As part of this initiative, the Jordan Football Association will work in partnership with a specialized hospital and an educational research institute to offer a variety of services dedicated to football players, including diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, rehabilitation and injury prevention programs, in addition to sports nutrition, anti-doping awareness, and towards enhancing scientific research and medical education in the field of football, contributing to the development of the sports medicine system and improving the health and performance of the players.

The council also approved the union's budget for the year 2026, alongside the preliminary budget for 2027, to ensure the continued implementation of development programs and projects in accordance with the union's strategic plans.

The council decided to hold the regular general assembly meeting on May 19 of the following year, which will include the election of the new council, in addition to holding the extraordinary general assembly meeting on April 16.
