Amir of Kuwait We were attacked by a neighboring country although we did not allow our territory to be used in any military act

Khaberni - His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Amir of the State of Kuwait, stated on Monday that Kuwait was subjected to a "brutal" attack by a neighboring Muslim state, although Kuwait had not allowed its land, airspace, or seas to be used in any military action against it, which refers to the attacks it suffered from Iran.

Al-Sabah added, in a speech on the occasion of the last ten days of Ramadan, that Kuwait has repeatedly informed Iran through diplomatic channels that Kuwaiti territory has not been used for military actions against Iran.

He emphasized that Iran's attack, which targeted Kuwait's airspace, land, civilian facilities, and infrastructure, constitutes a blatant violation of customs and international treaties, and a flagrant attack on its sovereignty, security, and stability.

He noted that the rapid developments in the region require everyone's utmost awareness, vigilance, and trust, adding, "Awareness of what is happening around us is no longer a choice but a national necessity that enables us to precisely read the developments and understand the political and security challenges that may arise and deal with them rationally and responsibly away from exaggeration or minimization."

Al-Sabah affirmed that the steps taken by Kuwait are based on a comprehensive strategic assessment and a conscious reading of reality, with full dedication to protecting the homeland, its people, and the residents within it.

He underscored that the Kuwaiti Armed Forces are diligently and competently performing their duties and tasks in confronting the attacks that targeted Kuwait and dealing with all threats and challenges with high efficiency.

He explained that the security situation in Kuwait is under precise monitoring, and military, security, and civilian state agencies are working with high readiness and integration to ensure the security and safety of Kuwaiti citizens and residents under all circumstances.

He pointed out that measures have been directed to increase readiness and strengthen preventive measures and deployment in vital locations to guarantee rapid response to any emergencies and maintain public tranquility.

He declared, "Our nation is a red line and its sovereignty is protected by the will of its people and the valor of its men and women, and we will not allow any state to compromise its security or stability. Therefore, we call upon the international community to assume its responsibilities in condemning this sinful aggression and taking decisive stances that enforce respect for laws and international treaties."

He also confirmed that the attacks that affected friendly countries are attacks on the security of the entire region, threatening its stability and peace, and that the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council states is indivisible. Any infringement on the sovereignty of any member state is a breach of the security of all the states.

He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the leaders of friendly nations for the honorable positions they have shown in communications condemning the Iranian attack on the State of Kuwait.

He emphasized that Kuwait affirms its complete and inherent right to defend itself under Article (51) of the United Nations Charter in response to this flagrant aggression proportionate to the magnitude and nature of this attack, in accordance with the provisions of international law, and to take all necessary measures to protect its lands, people, and residents and to ensure the protection of its sovereignty, security, and stability.
