AlShara We support the Lebanese president in disarming Hezbollah

Khaberni - Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shara participated in a video conference meeting today, Monday, with several Middle Eastern leaders, at the invitation of the Presidency of the European Council and the European Commission, with the aim of discussing military developments in the region, ways to de-escalate and support the diplomatic process.

President Al-Shara stated during the meeting that the current escalation represents an existential threat to the entire region; the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and strikes on energy infrastructure in the Gulf threaten global economic stability.

Al-Shara explained that Syria, located at a geographical crossroads between three raging fronts, faces direct and serious repercussions from these developments, emphasizing that its stance has always been firm in condemning all forms of aggression against Arab sovereignty.

He added "What we are witnessing of continuous Iranian attempts to destabilize Arab capitals, and interventions that affect the core of Arab national security, is strongly condemned, affirming that Syria's stability is the cornerstone for the stability of the Levant and the region."

President Al-Shara said: "We have coordinated our unified stance with the countries of the region, and we have strengthened our defensive forces on the borders as a precaution to prevent the transfer of conflict repercussions to Syrian territory, combat transnational organizations, and prevent them from using Syrian territory."

Al-Shara expressed support for the serious and decisive steps being taken by the governments of Iraq and Lebanon to ward off danger from their countries, prevent any slide towards conflict, and stand by Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in disarming Hezbollah.
