The government confirms readiness to deal with the economic repercussions of the Iran war

Khaberni - Minister of Agriculture Saieb Khreisat confirmed that the ministry has taken a series of measures to ensure the stability of local markets and the provision of various agricultural products in sufficient quantities, through organizing the movement of imports and exports, opening new outlets and markets, and closely monitoring the stock of goods and production inputs, in addition to enhancing health control on incoming shipments; this ensures meeting the local market needs for agricultural products under various conditions.

In turn, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Ya'rab Al-Qadi explained that the ministry continuously monitors the reality of supply chains and the movement of trade and transportation amid regional situations, and in coordination with various governmental bodies and the commercial and industrial sectors; to ensure the smooth flow of goods into the kingdom, pointing out that proactive measures have been taken to enhance the flexibility of supply chains, diversify import sources, and monitor inventory levels daily, ensuring the stability of local markets and providing goods to citizens.

He pointed out that the strategic stock of wheat and barley in the kingdom is safe and reassuring and sufficient to cover the needs of the local market alongside other basic food goods, confirming the existence of multiple alternatives to deal with any developments that may affect trade movement in the region.

President of the Jordan Chamber of Industry Fathi Jaghbeer confirmed that the Jordanian industry is committed not to raise prices, and that the Jordanian factories are operating at full capacity and normally, where local food industries cover about 65% of the local market needs, pointing out that the chamber monitors, in coordination with governmental bodies, the inventory levels of food goods and production inputs at the factories.
