Khaberni - A player of Jordanian origin has agreed to represent the Iraqi team, before the world qualifying playoff match, which is scheduled to take place on the first of April next year.
According to sources, the player, Ahmed Qasem, a professional in the ranks of the American team Nashville, has agreed to represent the Iraqi team during the upcoming period, after earlier communications through the expatriate committee in the federation.
The sources pointed out that the player holds both Swedish and Danish citizenships, and has previously represented the Swedish youth national team.
The player also has Jordanian/Palestinian roots on his father's side, and Iraqi roots on his mother's side.
According to the Iraqi constitution, a person is entitled to Iraqi nationality if their mother is Iraqi.
The Iraqi team had previously conducted negotiations with the player, but he did not make his decision until recently.
The player was born in 2003 and plays in attacking positions.
