The Woman An Endless Tale of Struggle
الكاتب: ولاء فخري العطابي

On International Women's Day, attention turns to the half of society that was never just a number in the equation of life; it was always its vibrant soul, its solid pillar, and its pulsating voice. Women are not just present in the scene, but they are the creators of the scene itself; they write its chapters with patience, adorn it with generosity, defend it with will, and illuminate it with an endless brilliance.

The struggling woman is not only the one who stands in the front lines of major battles but also the one who silently fights her daily battles; she struggles to build a home and raise a generation, and carve out a space for herself in a society that still often tests her ability to continue, bearing multiple responsibilities, being a tender mother, a conscious teacher, a capable leader, and a bearer of a message believing that her role transcends the self to build the whole community.

In our societies, women are not just participants in development but have become essential partners in decision-making and shaping the future. We see them in the fields of science, work, and management, leading institutions, healing the sick, educating generations, managing projects, and painting a brighter future with their generous hands, proving day after day that sincere will can break all barriers.

The woman who defends her right to be active and influential does not demand exceptional privileges but demands a fair space to demonstrate her capabilities, fully aware that leadership is not a title bestowed, but a responsibility built with diligence, knowledge, and continuous work.

On this day, we talk not only about women's achievements but also about the untold stories of patience, the small steps that led to great successes, and the hearts that carried both the burden and the hope together. The woman we see today as strong and confident, has passed through stations of earnestness, determination, and challenge, but she believed that the road to the dream is worth all of that.

And how many women around me I have seen rise after fatigue as if there is an unseen strength in their hearts that does not break, at work sometimes they are frustrated, and they face harsh situations of injustice, marginalization, or diminishment of rights, yet they do not retreat from their mission or give up their dreams, their faith remains stronger than all that surrounds them, and the heart keeps pulsing with hope, believing that tomorrow could be more beautiful, no matter the obstacles, women are able to turn their toil into strength, and their patience into a path towards a brighter future.

Allow me here to come a bit closer to the personal space; that space where the woman embodies her most beautiful forms, a mother, a sister, a role model, a woman who believed in me, and taught me that the road to ambition is not easy, but built with patience, labor, and faith in the ability to reach. A woman who supported me when I stumbled, motivated me when I weakened, and the hand that pushed me to move another step towards what I dream of.

Perhaps I have not yet reached all that I aspire to, and perhaps the road is still long, but I realize that what I carry today of determination and hope is an extension of that upbringing, those words, and those situations that created in me the belief that big dreams start with a step, and that a person can rise no matter how many times they stumble, yes, she is my dear mother.

And in my life, too, many women resemble the same story; my sisters who carry different messages in society: among them the teacher who builds minds, the administrator who manages work proficiently, the director who leads with confidence and authority, the nurse who brings hope to patients, the doctor who safeguards lives, and every woman faithfully performing her role, adding a brick to the building of this nation.

Therefore, celebrating women on their international day is not just a passing occasion, but an acknowledgment of a long tale of struggle, an inexhaustible capacity for giving, and a presence that makes a difference everywhere. Women are not only half of the society but are the coronary artery of the heart that gives it life.

Every year, may women be closer to their dreams, stronger in their presence, and more radiant in their endless role.
