Judge Calls on the Parliamentary Labor Committee to Prioritize the Interests of Participants in the Social Security Law

Khaberni - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mazen Al-Qadi, confirmed that the council will handle the amendment bill to the Social Security Law for the year 2026 with utmost care that suits the importance of this national legislation, and with a solid methodology that considers the national interest and protects the rights of citizens.

This came during his chairing part of a meeting held by the Parliamentary Committee on Labor, Social Development, and Population, chaired by the Deputy Andre Hawari, devoted to setting a work program for handling the bill amending the law of the Social Security Corporation.

Al-Qadi said: "We are faced with a bill of utmost importance and precision, therefore, we call on the committee to develop an objective and in-depth work plan, in which the law is to be discussed article by article and clause by clause, with the highest levels of neutrality and positivity, keeping the interests and rights of participants clearly in focus, along with the supreme national interest and ensuring the sustainability of the social security institution."

Al-Qadi emphasized the need to deal with the bill with a spirit of national responsibility, away from any other considerations, confirming that the council is keen to reach a balanced legislative formula that enhances social protection and preserves citizens’ rights.

Addressing the committee members, he said: "We do not want favors in this law, as national responsibility requires us to discuss each article with full objectivity. Every MP has the right to propose and present his opinion on the articles of the law transparently and clearly, and all opinions will be given consideration and care."

He added that the council will allow sufficient time for discussion of the bill, explaining that if the bill is approved by the specialized committee, it will take its full time under the dome, and will allocate what is necessary from sessions and hours to discuss all its articles without rush, ensuring every MP will have enough time to present their views and notes, enhancing the quality of legislation and achieving the national interest.
