Khaberni - The Ministry of Local Administration has renewed its call for citizens and owners of economic establishments to quickly benefit from the decision of the Cabinet, which grants discounts and exemptions on the tax for buildings and lands "roofs" and revenues, compensations, road wastes, and their leases for those who pay before the end of March 31, due to municipalities and the Greater Amman Municipality.
Today, Sunday, the ministry confirmed that the decision grants a discount of 20 percent on the taxes of "roofs" and knowledge and sewage fees if the full dues for previous years are settled, emphasizing that those who comply with the payment will also receive a full exemption from the penalties incurred on these taxes and fees.
Regarding the verification allowances, revenues, compensations, and road wastes, the ministry explained that the decision provided the taxpayers a discount of 25 percent in case of cash payment before the end of the current month, as well as the same discount (25 percent) for those requesting to purchase road wastes, with facilities allowing installment of these amounts during the specified period.
The decision also included an exemption for tenants of properties and buildings owned by municipalities and the Greater Amman Municipality by 25 percent of the fees due to them, provided they pay or start installment before the final date.
Regarding the payment mechanisms, the ministry stated that electronic payment channels are available to facilitate procedures for citizens, through the unified electronic municipal services portal, the "Sanad" application, or through the "E Fawateerkom" service after obtaining the electronic payment number from the relevant municipality, at the same time confirming the continuation of receiving payments directly through the municipalities' cash registers.
This decision comes as part of a series of government measures aimed at reducing the financial burdens on citizens and economic sectors and encouraging them to settle their financial situations, which positively reflects on the level of services provided and enhances the values of social solidarity.
