Registration for the General Secondary Examination 2026 starts from March 9 to March 29

Khaberni - The Ministry of Education announced the start of registration for the General Secondary Education Certificate Exam for the year 2026, starting from the morning of Monday, March 9, until the evening of Thursday, March 29.

The ministry confirmed in a press release that the period for receiving applications will not be extended beyond the specified date, and the registration procedures for regular students will be such that they will obtain their participation requests through their schools during the registration period, while private study students, according to the new plan, will get their participation requests by visiting the directorates of education during the registration period. Students abroad can review the offices of Jordanian embassies and cultural advisors in their areas of residence.

As for students under the old plans (born in 2007 or before), who have not completed the requirements for success or grade improvement, their registration will be done electronically through the link (exams.moe.gov.jo), and there is no need to visit the directorates of education. Fees are to be paid within the announced registration period through eFawateercom via the app or authorized agents, after which non-Jordanian participants must visit the examinations department at the Directorate of Education they belong to, bringing two recent personal photos matching the ID document size 4×6 cm after completing registration and payment process.

The ministry stated that regular students and new private study students must bring specific documents to attach to their participation request, namely a copy of the civil ID card or a copy of the Jordanian passport (no attestation needed), or an attested copy of the passport for non-Jordanians, or an attested copy of the identity card for children of Jordanian women, or a copy of the security card for Syrian participants who do not hold a passport, along with two personal recent photos matching the attached personal document, size 4×6 cm.

As for new private study students, they need to bring their academic certificates and original documents or an attested copy of them, which allowed them to apply for the general exam, or the most recent transcript of the General Secondary Education Certificate exam.

The ministry noted that the participation fees are 20 JDs for regular students in public schools, 50 JDs for regular students in private schools, and for non-regular students (private study students) 20 JDs as an exam participation fee + 10 JDs for each subject consisting of one paper they wish to appear in, and 5 JDs for each paper in subjects consisting of two papers.

The ministry clarified that all participants according to the new plan for the two parts of the general exam 2026 will follow the curricula and textbooks prescribed for the regular students for the academic year 2025/2026, while participants following the old plan (born in 2007 or before) will follow their curricula for the twelfth grade during the previous academic year 2024/2025.
