Hidden Signs Indicating a Weak Immune System

Khaberni - Dr. Nadezhda Elintseva, an allergy and immunology specialist, reported that there are five hidden signs of a weak immune system, and outlined the symptoms that should be noted.
According to her, the function of the immune system is to protect the body from external threats (such as microbial infections, poisoning, etc.) and internal ones, such as damaged cells, aggressive autoimmune complexes, and old cells and structures.

She says: "When the immune system is intact, a person rarely suffers from infectious diseases, does not suffer from allergies or autoimmune diseases, does not develop tumors, and accidental injuries, burns, and other damages heal quickly and without complications."

The doctor indicates that a weak immune system primarily manifests as an increased frequency of illness, a tendency for infections to become chronic, and exacerbation of existing chronic conditions repeatedly. Allergic and autoimmune reactions may become more active, and the risk of developing cancer increases.
There are several signs that may indicate a weak immune system, some obvious and some less so:

Skin problems: impaired skin function as a protective barrier, which includes: cracks at the corners of the mouth, infections and suppurations, inflammation of the hair follicles, boils and abscesses, in addition to the frequent appearance of cold sores around the lips and nose, shingles, fungal infections in the skin and nails, and the appearance of warts and papillomas.

Mucous membrane disorders: weakened protective barrier of the mucous membranes may manifest as persistent nasal congestion, chronic rhinitis, cough, and permanent oral inflammation. Symptoms may also include fungal infections in the digestive and reproductive system, such as candidiasis, genital herpes, and genital warts.

Enlarged lymph nodes: includes proliferation of lymphatic tissue such as the tonsils and nasal polyps, indicating continuous stress on the immune system.

Chronic fatigue syndrome: increased fatigue, weakness, and a constant feeling of exhaustion without a clear cause may be an indicator of weak immune system function.

Decreased antibodies: a decreased level of protective antibodies in the blood after an infection or vaccination indicates that the immune system is not producing a full protective response.

The experts indicate that the appearance of one or more of these signs calls for attention and a specialist consultation to conduct necessary tests when needed.
