Operation Lionesses of the Gulf Evacuation of Israelis from the UAE Amid Iranian Escalation

Khaberni - The Israeli Ministry of Transportation announced a plan for the "Lionesses of the Gulf" operation to evacuate Israelis stranded in the United Arab Emirates, in cooperation with Emirati airlines such as "Fly Dubai".
Families with children or humanitarian cases will be transported directly to Israel on two special rescue flights. Other Israelis will be transferred to the Greek capital Athens as a transit station.

The plan comes amid disruption of commercial flights due to the Iranian escalation in the Gulf, where Israel had previously partially evacuated staff from its embassy in the UAE.

The initial flights will start with about 50 passengers, with the possibility of gradually increasing the number depending on risk management, and they will land at Ben Gurion Airport.

Hebrew media outlets had earlier revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had asked the President of the UAE, Mohammed Bin Zayed, during a phone call on Saturday to approve the plan of the Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev, to schedule exceptional flights from the UAE to Israel, to repatriate citizens stranded amidst the war with Iran.
