Clothing Syndicate Currently no increase in clothing prices and any subsequent increase will not be significant

Khaberni - Sultan Allan, the head of clothing, footwear, and textile traders, said on Saturday that the cessation of flights at several airports in the Gulf region has caused a halt in sales operations on some online commercial sites.

Allan added that the goods are available in the markets and that traders have not been significantly affected by the ongoing events in the region.

Allan explained that the customs department has shown readiness to cooperate by extending working hours and reducing the period for releasing goods, from 12 days to 6 days.

Allan indicated that goods related to the clothing and footwear sector are available in large quantities in the markets.

He mentioned that the syndicate is working on finding solutions to secure goods for the period after Eid al-Fitr by organizing several meetings with the chambers of commerce.

Allan confirmed that there will be no change in prices of goods in the markets, noting that competitiveness in the clothing and footwear sector prevents price increases in this sector.

Allan spoke about the possibility of price increases if transportation costs rise due to events in the region, explaining that the increase will not be significant to consumers.
