Doctor warns Intimacy alone is not enough to prevent prostate cancer

Khaberni - Dr. Dmitry Goravski, a urology specialist, stated that engaging in intimate relations does not protect against prostate cancer.

According to the doctor, while intimate relations are beneficial for men's health, they do not protect against prostate cancer. He points out that the belief that they do protect against cancer is common, but incorrect.

He says:
"Prostate cancer development is significantly influenced by age, genetics, hormone levels, lifestyle, and the presence of chronic inflammation. Age remains the main risk factor, hence the recommendation to start regular screenings after the age of 45."

The doctor confirms that there is no reliable scientific evidence indicating that regular sexual activity can protect against cancer.

He adds that the best preventive measures include adopting a healthy lifestyle and regular medical check-ups, as these are the most effective measures for preventing prostate cancer. He also advises quitting smoking, reducing stress, engaging in moderate daily physical activity, and following a balanced diet to minimize the risk of this disease.
