Khaberni - The British newspaper 'The Telegraph' revealed that Israel used a ballistic missile model “Blue Anchor” in the attack that resulted in the death of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei.
According to the report, this advanced missile can exit and re-enter the Earth's atmosphere in a ballistic trajectory, making it difficult to intercept.
Remains of the missile - described as long metal cylinders - were found in western Iraq, seemingly aligned with its path en route to Iran.
According to the report, the range of the Israeli-made missile is about 2000 kilometers. Its ability to quickly exit and re-enter the atmosphere makes it challenging for air defense systems to detect and intercept timely.
The missile measures about 6.5 meters in length and weighs about 1.9 tons and was originally developed as a target missile to test air defense systems.
Over the years, it has been modified for offensive use as a high-speed air-to-ground missile with a partially ballistic trajectory.
The missile belongs to the Anchor family of missiles, which also includes the models “Anchor Black” and “Anchor Silver,” developed to simulate Scud missiles. According to the report, this missile is typically carried aboard fighter jets.
The newspaper mentioned that Khamenei spent most of his evening hours in a very deep shelter within his complex in Tehran, a shelter that supposedly takes about five minutes to reach by descending. For this reason, the prevailing assessment within the Iranian regime was to expect an Israeli attack in the evening hours.
The raids began in the morning and included at least 30 precise strikes targeting the complex where Khamenei resided.
According to foreign reports, Israel had cut phone services in the complex area to prevent its elements from calling for help.
By evening, reports indicated that the headquarters had sustained substantial damage, with at least six buildings within it affected. The following morning, the official media in the country announced the assassination of Khamenei.
According to The Telegraph report, in addition to Anchor missiles, Israel used other weapons and dropped about two thousand bombs during the first thirty hours of the conflict.
Meanwhile, the United States used advanced weapon systems, including Tomahawk cruise missiles and HIMARS rockets. Moreover, the Pentagon released photos of the first practical use of the precision strike missile, capable of hitting targets over a range of about 500 kilometers.
