Yasmin Abdelaziz seeks the help of Adel Imam to respond to criticisms

Khaberni - Egyptian actress Yasmin Abdelaziz reposted an old video of actor Adel Imam on her "Facebook" account, amid the controversy surrounding her new series "We Forget What Was", which is being shown during the Ramadan drama season of 2026, especially with the escalating discussion about the most anticipated work.

This move came as an indirect message from Yasmin Abdelaziz in response to the recent criticisms she faced, where she shared a clip of previous statements by Adel Imam saying: "I confuse a lot of people, and many are annoyed with me and I don't understand why, and strangely, these people are from the same profession.. How do I stay connected all this time, but I don't care".

Yasmin accompanied the video with a brief comment saying: "You're not alone, God bless you, leader", indicating her feeling that what she is facing in terms of criticism is similar to what Adel Imam discussed in those statements.

Yasmin Abdelaziz is participating in the current Ramadan drama competition through the series "We Forget What Was", alongside a number of stars, notably Karim Fahmy, Cynthia Khalifeh, and Sherine Reda. The work is written by Amr Mahmoud Yassin and directed by Mohamed Al-Khabiry.

Meanwhile, actor Karim Fahmy recently commented on the controversy surrounding the series, emphasizing that Yasmin Abdelaziz has a history rich in successes, and cannot easily be affected by a wave of sarcastic comments on social media.

Fahmy explained that he is not trying to defend the work as much as he is expressing his point of view, noting that any artistic work is backed by a large team that makes a genuine effort to provide an experience that satisfies the audience, and that sometimes not achieving the expected success does not mean diminishing the efforts of its creators.

He also pointed out his belief in Yasmin Abdelaziz's performance in the series, explaining that the character she portrays suffers from psychological disorders and is on sedatives, which justifies the nature of her behavior and emotional reactions during the events.

In conclusion, Karim Fahmy emphasized that he no longer relies on social media as the main source for evaluating artworks, pointing out that the audience's reactions in the streets remain the most reliable measure of any artistic work's success.
