Parcel Crisis Before the Holiday The Jordanian Garment Syndicate Reveals What is Happening

Khaberni - The Syndicate of Clothing, Fabric, and Footwear Traders said that the severe disruption in the postal parcel supply chains could lead to many of the shipments purchased via online shopping platforms not arriving before Eid al-Fitr.

The syndicate stated in a statement on Saturday that this disruption is especially occurring amidst a number of flight cancellations and some shopping platforms ceasing to accept orders.

The syndicate affirmed that traditional commerce is the primary guarantor for the continuous availability and stability of goods in local markets, especially during seasons that witness a high demand like the Eid al-Fitr season.

It added that local markets still continuously provide citizens with clothing and footwear needs, thanks to the traditional commerce system that ensures direct and permanent availability of goods to consumers.

It explained that it has always warned of the increasing focus on postal parcels, due to the high risks associated with this type of trade which could affect the timely arrival of goods.

The syndicate also pointed out that some buyers might also face issues related to the reimbursement of their payments if orders are delayed or do not arrive, confirming that purchasing from local markets remains the safest option for consumers, especially during seasons close to holidays.
