Saudi Arabia announces intercepting 4 drones in the Empty Quarter heading to Shaybah Oil Field

Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, announced the interception and destruction of 4 drones in the Empty Quarter, which were targeting Shaybah Oil Field.
Al-Maliki stated in a concise statement: "4 drones were intercepted and destroyed in the Empty Quarter heading for Shaybah field."

The statement also confirmed: "the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched towards Prince Sultan Air Base."

This announcement comes after a series of successful defensive operations, where Al-Maliki announced on Friday the interception and destruction of a cruise missile east of Al-Kharj governorate.

Previously, it was revealed that 9 drones were intercepted and destroyed as soon as they entered Saudi airspace, in addition to thwarting an attack by a drone targeting Ras Tanura refinery, confirming that preliminary assessments indicate no damages.

These attacks come at a time when the region is experiencing an unprecedented escalation against the backdrop of the American-Israeli war on Iran, which began on February 28, with ongoing exchanges of missile strikes and drones that have affected several Gulf states.
