Khaberni – The Lebanese Minister of Social Affairs said that the number of displaced people in the country is close to half a million, most of them from the southern suburb of Beirut and areas of Southern Lebanon.
She added in statements to Al Jazeera that the government is working on providing the necessary housing requirements for the displaced, but so far has not been able to reach all those affected.
She pointed out that the relevant authorities have been able to meet the needs of about 70% of the displaced so far, confirming that there are challenges in reaching shelter centers due to severe congestion on the roads.
