Khaberni - The British police arrested 4 men on suspicion of assisting the Iranian intelligence by spying on sites and individuals linked to the Jewish community in London.
The Counter-Terrorism Police stated that the men - an Iranian national and three holding both British and Iranian nationalities - were detained shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday at addresses in the Barnet and Watford areas, as part of a pre-planned operation.
Helen Flanagan, head of Counter-Terrorism Police in London, said: "The arrests made today are part of a long-standing investigation, and part of our ongoing work to thwart any malicious activity we suspect exists."
We understand the public's concern, especially the Jewish community, and as always, I ask them to be cautious, and if they see or hear anything that concerns them, they should contact us," said Flanagan.
The UK initially refused to use its bases (like Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean) for offensive strikes against Iran but later allowed for "defensive" missions such as hosting American B-2/B-52 bombers and limited air support.
It also sent destroyers like HMS Dragon to Cyprus to protect its bases from Iranian drones, along with deploying F-35 jets and radars.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer said: "We did not participate in the offensive strikes", but "Iran is not allowed to have nuclear weapons", and called for a negotiated settlement and for Iran to "stop repression and violence".
