Khaberni - Three informed sources reported that Iranian Kurdish factions consulted in the past few days with the United States about whether to attack Iranian security forces in the western part of the country, and how this could be carried out.
The sources mentioned that a coalition of Iranian Kurdish groups is based on the border between Iran and Iraq within the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, where they are undergoing training to prepare for such an attack aimed at weakening the Iranian army, coinciding with the continued bombing by the United States and Israel of Iranian locations.
US President Donald Trump encouraged Iranian Kurdish forces in Iraq to attack Iran, with the widening conflict in the Middle East.
In response to the possibility of Kurdish forces entering Iran, Trump told "Reuters": "I think it's great that they want to do that, and I fully support them."
Security sources reported that two Iranian drone attacks targeted a camp for the Iranian opposition in Iraqi Kurdistan on Thursday.
The Iraqi Kurdistan Region includes camps and bases for Iranian Kurdish opposition groups, which Iran has repeatedly struck since the beginning of the war in the Middle East.
Mardin Zahidi from the Iranian Kurdish organization Khabat stated, "Two attacks hit our headquarters, resulting in minor injuries to two of our members," in the Khabat district of Erbil Governorate, holding Iran responsible for the attack.
Less than an hour earlier, a drone targeted a camp belonging to the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan in the district of Koy Sanjaq, according to an official in the party who requested anonymity.
The same camp had been targeted by a drone strike on Tuesday.
Iran classifies Kurdish opposition groups as terrorist organizations and has previously accused them of serving Western or Israeli interests.
Last week, five factions announced the formation of a political alliance seeking to overthrow the regime in Iran and ensure the Kurds' right to self-determination.
