Khaberni - The Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed Arab officials, that foreign ministers of the Arab League member states will hold an emergency meeting on Sunday to discuss the Iranian attacks on several countries in the region.
The newspaper added that the meeting was requested by Saudi Arabia and would be held via video technology.
Since Saturday, Israel and the United States have been carrying out airstrikes on Iran, which led to the death of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Since then, Tehran has been retaliating with strikes on Israel and other countries in the region using missiles and drones.
Mojtaba Khamenei, son of the former Supreme Leader, is one of the most likely candidates to succeed him, given that he is one of the most influential figures in Iran. Hasan Khomeini is also mentioned as a potential successor, but US President Donald Trump has said he wants to participate in choosing the next Iranian leader.
Following the death of the Supreme Leader, a transitional leadership council took over the running of the country until the Assembly of Experts elects a permanent leader.
Iran targeted oil tankers and containers attempting to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
On Sunday, Hezbollah fired several rockets from Lebanon targeting northern Israel in response to the assassination of Khamenei, drawing Lebanon into an open war with Israel, where devastating airstrikes were carried out on southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.
