Khaberni - Air raid sirens sounded in different areas of Jordan on Thursday evening, to alert citizens and urge them to comply with instructions in the light of regional escalations and military threats.
The Public Security Directorate explained that the sounding of three intermittent sirens indicates a threat, while a single siren indicates that the threat has passed. It confirmed that upon hearing the three sirens, it is advisable to stay put and not move and, if found outside, to take shelter in the nearest building and stay away from windows and exposed places.
The directorate also advised not to approach any strange or fallen object that might be dangerous, to not touch, move, or try to open it, to stay away from it as far as possible without crowding around it and allow room for the specialized agencies to deal with it.
It also urged for immediate reporting via the unified emergency phone number (911) of any strange objects, drones, or missiles, or in cases of injuries or damages, emphasizing the importance of educating family members, especially children, not to tamper with any unknown objects.
Furthermore, they emphasized not to spread rumors or post unverified images and clips on social media, and to rely only on official sources, confirming that adherence to these instructions contributes to the protection of lives and property and enables the specialized agencies to perform their duties efficiently.
