Khaberni - The Lebanese government has decided to reinstate the requirement for Iranian nationals to obtain an entry visa to Lebanon, according to a statement issued following the conclusion of the Lebanese Cabinet session today, Thursday.
The government stated that the decision is to control the Lebanese borders and prevent any activity or action that may disrupt security or lead to the use of Lebanese territory to achieve specific ends.
The cabinet also decided to request the relevant ministries and administrations, especially the Lebanese Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, along with other military and security agencies, to give appropriate instructions and directives to verify the presence of members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Lebanon and to intervene and take immediate action to prevent any security or military activity they might conduct starting from Lebanese territory regardless of their status or the cover under which they operate and to arrest them under the supervision of the competent judiciary in preparation for their deportation from Lebanese territory.
The statement clarified that the decision was made in light of increasing information about the presence of elements of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on Lebanese soil and their involvement in military and security activities.
