Iran after Khamenei Delegation of Some Powers of the Guide to the Interim Leadership Council

Khaberni - Mohsen Dehnavi, the spokesperson for the Discernment of System's Interest Assembly in Iran, announced that some powers of the Iranian guide had been delegated to the Interim Leadership Council.

Among the powers delegated to the Interim Leadership Council are the declaration of war or peace, and the dismissal and appointment of military leaders,

Dehnavi clarified in a post on the «X» platform on Thursday that this procedure is based on Article 111 of the Constitution of Iran, which stipulates that exercising some leadership powers requires the approval of three-quarters of the members of the Discernment Assembly of the System's Interest.

He added that the assembly ratified last Sunday, by a majority exceeding three-quarters of the members, to grant these powers to the Interim Leadership Council, and the council was officially informed of the decision.

The Interim Leadership Council consists of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Judiciary Chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejehi, and Ali Reza Aarafi, a member of the Guardian Council of the Constitution.

This measure came after the killing of the previous Iranian guide Ali Khamenei in the attacks carried out by the United States and Israel last Saturday, while the Assembly of Experts on Leadership has not yet announced a successor to him.
