Khaberni - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) withdrew more than 651,000 large packages of water from store shelves after discovering hygiene-related problems that could affect consumer health.
The agency explained that the recall includes "Valley Springs" water products of various sizes and types, but did not provide precise details about the nature of the "unhealthy conditions" that prompted this action.
The recalled water was sold in retail stores in Illinois and Wisconsin, and may have been distributed elsewhere as well.
The affected products include:
"Valley Springs" bottled water, 1 gallon, 100% natural (UPC: 0 31193-00701 9).
"Valley Springs" bottled water, 2.5 gallon, 100% natural (UPC: 0 31193-01501 4).
"Valley Springs" bottled water, 1 gallon, 100% natural with added fluoride (UPC: 0 31193-01301 0)
"Valley Springs" steam distilled water, 1 gallon (UPC: 0 31193-00601 2).
"Valley Springs" infant water, 1 gallon ("not sterile. Use only as directed on the packaging when preparing baby milk or after consulting a doctor.") (UPC: 0 31193-01401 7).
"Valley Springs" Daisy's Doggy water, one gallon ("100% pure water, chlorine-free") (UPC: 0 31193-90100 3).
The Food and Drug Administration classified the recall as a Class II, which means the product "may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects".
Consumers who purchased this water are advised to discard it or return it to the store for a refund. Anyone who feels ill after drinking the recalled water should consult a doctor immediately.
