Khaberni - Qatar announced on Thursday that it is evacuating residents living near the US Embassy in the capital Doha, after the Gulf state was targeted by Iranian strikes.
Explosions were heard in Doha on Tuesday as Iran bombarded targets across the region.
On the same day, an Iranian ballistic missile hit the US military base in Al Udeid, 40 kilometers southwest of Doha, according to the Qatari Ministry of Defense.
Earlier, Qatar announced that it had thwarted attacks on Hamad International Airport.
The Qatari Ministry of Interior released a statement on the platform «X» saying, «The competent authorities are evacuating residents living in the vicinity of the US Embassy as a temporary precautionary measure», indicating that alternative accommodation has been secured for them. Previously, the ministry had urged citizens to remain indoors and buildings and to avoid going out unless necessary.
